I was trying to title this "The Monkey King and the White Dragon", but it only let me fit "The Monkey King and the White"...then, when I eliminated the "The", it allowed me to go as far as "Monkey King and the White Drag". Please pardon my incompetence at title making.
This was done in watercolor pencils (coloring) and india ink (line art) on illustration board. There is actually a white border around the whole thing...but my camera seems to think that every picture with a white border actually needs to have a yellowish, off-white border instead (it also thinks that blurry is the new crisp and clear). So, I was like "No ways bitch", and cropped it off.
AnyHoover, yeah...the main part of this illustration is based on an excerpt from Journey to the West...one of my faaaaaaaaaaavorite stories as a child. The little girl is loosely based on me...the boy is based on my brother (as he is now, 'cause he's actually younger than I)...annnnnnnnd the dog is based on the imaginary dog I always wanted, but never had. The old storyteller man is just there for the pahr-tay, and it looks like he decided to get all fancy and in costume. Trala.
Ok. Well, I should get back to workinn on my portfolio again. Thanks for looking!
This is amazing!
The colors are brilliant, and the lines are great!
The composition is lovely too, the whole picture is gerta, not just one spot, and nothign is too too eye catching so much as it takes away from the rest of the picture.
Wonderful, wonderful job!

I love it! Excellent job on the coloring, and I love the texture of the background and the different colors on the dragon's scales. I also love how the story comes to life right in front of children's eyes
Youuuuuuuuuuuuu need to put yours up too. Yes, I think so my friend.
I didn't see you yesterday. Tear.
