I'm pretty pleased with how this one turned out. Kind of.
Oh...this is meant to be sort of a sad piece...just clarifying in case anyone gets confused by the yellow colors...sorry, don't mean to undermine your intelligence or anything.
I loooooove drawing angels. They've been a fascination of mine ever since I was little and are a pretty frequent motif in my work.
oh beautiful! I love the kind of "beauty and the beast feel" to it. Because everyone has their inner angel (beauty) and their inner beast, who just wants a hug really. I love those big powerful arms compared to the delicate Angel hands.
I'm not sure how much you want in terms of critique, so if this is too much, just let me know. First of all, lots of this is beautiful; lovely drawing. The facial expressions are just right; the angel's hair beautifully rendered. However... when I first looked at this, I thought it pretty weird, because it looked as if the angel had a horribly deformed right arm -- the beast's shoulder being on the same level as the angel's, it gave the illusion initially that his arm was hers. The other arm problem is the angel's left arm -- there is an odd line a little way from her wrist which gives the impression that her arm is two dimensional and has a 'fold' at this point.
Apart from those two points, this is a super drawing. I particularly like the modelling of the beast's arm, the overall composition, and the use of yellow.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
